FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Are returns allowed?
All sales are final, so unfortunately we don't offer returns. But don't worry! We will always include sizing and detailed info in the product description so you know exactly what you're getting :)
For more info, check out our Shipping & Returns page
What if an item doesn't fit me?
We get it - shopping online can be tricky! Thats why we will always provide measurements alongside the general size (S, M, L, XL, etc) in every listing.
Do you offer local pickup?
Yep! If you're in San Diego, you can select Local Pickup at checkout. We do pickups on Saturdays & Sundays from 10AM–3PM in the Spring Valley area. Pickup details will be sent to you after you check out.
How long do I have to pick up my order?
We’ll hold onto your order for 2 weeks. After that, it may go back up for sale and we can’t guarantee a refund—so try to come through before then <3
I can’t make it on the weekend—what do I do?
We totally get it! Life happens. Email us at thriftskishelp@gmail.com and we’ll try to work something out on a case-by-case basis!
Can I pay in person at pickup?
Nope, all orders must be paid online before pickup. This helps us avoid no-shows and keeps things smooth. We do accept cash if you see something you like in person at the pickup spot though 👀
Why is shipping $8.49?
Since we're just starting out, we decided on a flat rate of $8.49 for all U.S. orders under $65 to keep things simple and fair for everyone. Orders $65 and up ship free—yay!
Since we’re still growing, this helps us cover the basics like packaging, handling, and shipping costs. We hope to keep improving our shipping options as we grow.
Pro tip: The more pieces you add to your order, the more the shipping cost balances out!
Why do you sell fast fashion brands?
This is a big one - and we're glad you asked!
We do sell fast fashion pieces (like Shein, Forever 21, etc) but not because we support the industry behind them.
We believe that giving these clothes a second life is way better than letting them end up in a landfill. Skipping cute secondhand clothes just because of the tag doesn't help the planet! But rewearing them and rehoming them does :)
It's all about keeping clothes in closets, not in waste piles. If you want to learn more, check out our quick video on the homepage!
Why are your prices the way they are?
We totally understand the curiosity! Just to clear things up - we don't sell donated clothing, and we don't source from local thrift stores.
All of our pieces come from secondhand wholesale suppliers - which means we're actually buying clothes in bulk (before they end up in landfills!) and giving them a second chance.
We put a lot of care into choosing pieces, prepping them, photographing them, and listing them for you. So while we always aim to keep prices affordable, they also reflect the time, effort, and cost it takes to run a small business like this.
Thanks for supporting sustainability with us!
